Spotify VC would “like to see Spotify IPO in a few years”

Tech investor Northzone would like to see Spotify IPO in a few years, saying it would consider it “the most logical way of building for the long term”. Par-Jorgen Parson, a general partner in Northzone and Spotify board member, said this in an interview to Reuters. He added that the choice was ultimately up to the founders, however.

Northzone is an early Spotify investor – it says it’s the largest shareholder after the two founders Daniel Ek (29) and Martin Lorentzon. Daniel Ek has said earlier this year that he has no plans to take Spotify public anytime soon.

(I also love the fact that this story is tagged under “small business” at Reuters! Spotify is currently doing a round that would value them at $ 3 billion. )
