SAP founder Hasso Plattner invests in travel platform GoEuro

SAP founder Hasso Plattner just invested in GoEuro, a “multi-mode travel search engine”. GoEuro collects databases of different transportation modes like rail, air, bus and car rental – and combines them into a one stop search engine for consumers who want to plan a trip. The goal, says founder Naren Shaam, is to build the “ultimate travel search engine”.

GoEuro raised $ 4 million in seed funding from Battery Ventures, Hasso Plattner Ventures, Dave Bagget and Jeff Saganskx.

The investment will be used to develop the necessary infrastructure – a difficult undertaking because of all the different kinds of databases involved. According to GoEuro founder Naren Shaam, “numerous” European travel organizations agreed to cooperate with GoEuro.
