Pubeco raises € 1,2 million from ISAI to digitize retail catalogs

French startup Pubeco raised € 1,245 from French VC ISAI (Blablacar) to expand its team and increase its reach among consumers and retailers.

Pubeco, founded in 2008 by Romain Sarels and Yannick Lalleau, digitizes retailer catalogs and paper coupons and deals. It then uses geolocation to offer localized deals to consumers. At this time, Pubeco says it has about 700 000 subscribers for its service, and it currently works with about 100 retailers.

As far as I can tell, the business model is a B2B model that charges the retailers to digitize and offer their wares to the 700k subscribers.

The financing will be used to fuel growth for Pubeco: it wants to substantially grow the number of users, and triple its team in the next two years.
