Is Lars Hinrichs going to space next?

12 Feb, 2013

Lars Hinrichs (Xing, HackFwd) seemed to indicate on Twitter that he’s going to space:

I guess that would make him one of the first European entrepreneurs to go to space. I asked him for more info via Twitter.

Virgin Galactic is Richard Branson’s spaceline which plans to operate a fleet of five SpaceShipTwo spaceplanes (see photo) in a private passenger-carrying service.

Virgin Galactic have been accepting bookings since 2007 – you have to be really patient to get on a spaceship, it seems. Currently, the first space trips are scheduled for late 2013.

And you’ll have to have a credit card that can handle a  US $ 200,000 ticket to space (and hopefully back). Make that $ 1 million if you want the party flight option for yourself and 5 friends. Maybe Hinrichs will be on the same spaceship as Ashton Kutcher, who became the 500th astronaut to sign up for Virgin Galactic in March last year.
